How long have you been in business?
Coast Prestige Homes was founded in early 2010, but Chris Clark, the owner and operator, has been in the construction business for over a decade. We are a talented team of skilled trades and master craftsmen, and we’re looking forward to helping you build your dream here in Victoria.
Our last custom construction project ran over budget. How do we prevent this from happening with Coast Prestige Homes?
The best way to keep costs in line is to have a comprehensive plan from the very beginning. Before we start any project, we will work with you and your designer to ensure we’ve got all of the information we need to provide you with an accurate estimate. We will do everything we can to ensure we stay within the budget, but sometimes requested changes will have an impact on the final price.<br /><br />
In most cases, it’s the little changes along the way that make the biggest impact on a budget, so the earlier we can know about them, the better chance we have of sticking to the original estimate. To ensure you get exactly what’s important to you, we’ll let you know if your request will push things beyond the estimate, so you can make an informed decision.
How long will my renovation or new home construction take?
To be fair, we can’t give you a specific answer without more information, but we are able to give you a solid estimate once we’ve got a good understanding of what you’re looking for. Based on our experience, we can give you a reasonable timeline.
I’m moving from Edmonton to Victoria – are you able to help me before I move?
Absolutely. We have a few clients who have chosen to get away from the snowy winters of Alberta for the year-round greenery of Victoria. We can work with you and your team of professionals to create a plan to build your home, or we can bring in our team of experts to consult with you while you’re out of province.
Who pulls the permits?
Our goal is to make your project as painless as possible and, as your general contractor, we are able to take care of the appropriate documentation within the local jurisdictions.
Whose name will be on the Yellow Sheet?
Yellow Sheets are an industry document that provides information collected via public records. As the information is available publicly, there are some trades and sales people that use this as an opportunity to solicit new business. We will pull all the permits you’ll need for your project, so it will be our name on the Yellow Sheet. This is an added benefit of doing business with a company that respects you and your time.
Do you take on projects outside of Victoria?
We have completed home construction and renovation projects on the Gulf Islands and as far north as Cobble Hill, but the majority of our projects are located within Greater Victoria.
Who is responsible for keeping the job site clean?
Daily cleanup is part of our routine as we take great pride in our work. You will probably hear at least one person on our team say, “A Clean Site is a Happy Site.”
